Buying fish online

I've bought from several different ones in the past and never had any problems- some I paid extra for shipping just to get the fish I wanted - other times I got free shipping if I spent $129-$150 I just found an offer from reefvirus.com for 35% off and free shipping on $150- one order will fill my tanks up- very tempting

Lmk if you're going to order. They have very low prices on quarantined fish. Already picked out three.

Putting my list together now- trying to figure out what the deal is with the 35% and $150 for free delivery- will work on it tomorrow- probably order on Friday- nobody ships on Friday- should ship on Monday or Tuesday for overnight

I just looked up the site to see what they offer and only like 2 searches down was something saying is the site legit. Here's a screenshot from said site. Idk if I'd trust buying from them or not unless you or somebody else have before and know they are legit. I've been hearing alot of people getting scammed on fb and websites recently in the hobby so just looking out for everyone.Screenshot_20220112-205859_Chrome.jpg

I saw that too- it's just because they are new with no reviews- I have a website too with no search engine optimizing- I know what it's like when you first start to expand. I'm going to give them a try anyway- anyone else locally want to join in- would have to be a local pickup- chester, morris county

I'm curious to see how it works out. Seems like good pricing for qt fish. I have the 120 I'm putting together and will eventually need some new inhabitants. Keep us posted

I'm going to be a pessimist and agree with you. Their prices for quarantined fish are too good to be true. Not risking my cbb and tangs. I got ahead of myself with the low prices have to take a step back.

I signed up for their email alerts. Hoping to have a 180 set up by the end of Feb. If this 35% off and free shipping comes up again I'll buy my school of anthias from them. I'll set my quarantine tank back up and still come out ahead. My gem alone is worth 2-3 times what a few lyretails are worth. And a cbb that holds its own against a bunch of tangs at feeding time would be heartbreaking to lose.

I've have had good luck with SaltwaterFish.com and AbsolutelyFishNaturals.com and mixed experiences with NYAquatic.com but I've never heard of this one. If it is legit, I'll definitely order from them.

I just checked out their website - there is no phone number, address or contact email info - very suspicious.

I'm holding off ordering-most on line stores only ship Monday to Thursday- I doubt if an order made today would ship today and Monday is a holiday. Have to wonder if the 35% off is still good- it's a promo code ( happynewyear ) I asked to join their fb page- I don't like that there is no contact info and that they don't take paypal.

Without the promo code their prices are about the same for most fish. I've bought from Saltwaterfish and Aquariumfishsale before and checked prices on liveaquaria- will mull it over and most likely place an order with one or another over the weekend

An update on reefvirus- I was able to join the fb group- The owner has covid and 2 employees tested positive. The group was public and went private- something I can understand- just too much crap, trashing, bashing on public groups- there's at least a bit of control in a private group

The website is only a month old- definitely need tweaklng, something I learned with mine-you don't want it search engine optimized at first these days

I did see a video of a tang that was qt'd for 2 months with a post of what it was eating
I pm'd the owner-waiting for a reply- could be a while, I'm sure he's got his hands full

Had a nice chat with the owner of reefvirus- I'll be placing an order this weekend- the promo code is still good but I'd had to order enough to still get a $150 order to get free shipping or pay $45 for shipping- use it or lose it lol- tough choice lol

Went and placed an order with reefvirus, got 35% off and free shipping- instead of just buying fish- I mixed it up and bought some corals too- I got an email confirmation, , so time will tell- Monday is a holiday- hoping for a Wednesday/ Thursday delivery- will post updates
