I have magnets and a long handle razor blade scraper to take care of the algae. The magnet works fine on the front glass, and the razor does fine on the back, but I have an in tank acrylic sump. I've been using the magic eraser, and it's fine too. I also get some algae on the rocks and have been using small brushes. I came up with a way to use a dollar store bath back brush- used my Dremel saw max and cut the outer sides off- now it's a 14" brush I can use on glass, acrylic and rocks

Great! The brush I had bought from the dollar store would rust after a while. Where the bristles are connected to the brush area, it was being held in place by some metal that you couldn’t see

Hmm. I'll have to take a closer look- mine looks like it's just glued in- even the one I use-and it's over a year old- either way, it's a cheap long handle brush- I'm tired of getting my shirtsleeves wet when tending the tank :)
