i'm not in texas, but i have some experience with a steve's leds retrofit into a red sea max 250. that was an all in one with a hood and i had purchased the tank second hand with the kit already installed.
later on, i ended up upgrading the led banks and controller when i needed to do some rewiring/troubleshooting the system. they were nice lights but long term, having a retrofit in a hood was a lot less desirable then readily available fixtures to me.

LOL....in another post you said you visited The Hidden Reef in PA and I assumed you were a "local" and would be close by. I was going to suggest you stop by and I'd take a look at what you had. Texas just might be a touch too far.
