No clue what the HE!! is going on with the tank. I lost 5 heads of this Hammer over the weekend. LPS has been dropping slowly for a few weeks now and its getting extremely old and tiring.
If I cannot correct this and the tank goes downhill I am out.

I pulled 2 corals - hammer and torch. No brown jelly. The hammer had bunch of sponges and both had vermatid snails. I removed the snails and sponges and did a peroxide dip. I noticed both coral skeletons seemed soft as I easily broke them with my tongs. Any ideas why they seem so brittle?

Its not slimy like jelly; its just brown algae.

The coral look a bit better today and no lost heads overnight. Will have to keep an eye on them and see.
I accidentally gave my one Torch BJD when I was cleaning out my waterbox 10 AIO rear chambers and by mixing up so much bacteria and detritus it got to the coral, some ways I have helped stop BJD from spreading in my new larger tank Is any time I have it happen I run new Felt filter socks or finer one to catch anything in the water, run full carbon. And if you have it run a UV

Get an icp test, there may be something underlying that we may. Not be seeing. Crazy through but maybe the previous owner whacked the tank with a chemical lol.

Only thing that comes to mind is I used city water to setup the tank. Last few months I started using well water for top off. Maybe I should switch back to city water.

If the only thing you changed was the water...it has to be the cause. Have you added any new corals ?

Nothing new in months. The corals look better after dipping in peroxide and knock wood no other heads gone so far.

I did notice ATO chamber was going fast and kept filling it. This weekend realized the hose from float switch to ATO chamber fell off the chamber so was dumping 5g of water in sump a few times. I tested and salinity is 1.025 now with no salt addition.

Everything still looks good with no other loses. I was manually carbon dosing (Vodka) but added a small DIY container today and added it to the last head of the dosing pump.
