Need advice on wome new powerhead!

NJ Reefers. Can you please share your powerhead recomendations with me? I am so done with Maxspect Gyres! They are nothing but trouble and are constatly shutting off. You can clean these damn things every day and they still just shut off. Problem is Ecotech reviews aren't much better. Anyone have experience with the Neros?

No experience with gyres. I’ve been using Tunze power heads for years. Never had any problems with them. Would recommend them if you want ones that will last a long time. I have them 10+ years.

Get a Jaebo DMP series off aliexpress . I just got the DMP 40(Bluetooth version) yesterday. $120shipped. You can even get them cheaper depending on the vendor or the size. They also have wifi versions but I didnt have a need for it.
The cool thing about the Jaebo that it uses magnets and suction cups for added support

I have an MP40, but couldn't justify paying X amount for a new one again.
I also paired it with a different guard from a guy on Etsy. Shown below

I've only used mp40s and 10s for years. I currently use 4 mp40s but I added 2 AI nero 7s which I love. Easy to use and easy to clean. Both controllable with mobius.

I’m using an mp10 for about 4 years and I used a nero3 for around 2, I also have a jaebo gyre style but the app it’s not really good. So the mp10 it’s the best from my experience

We have 2 neros running, one in our frag tank and one in our display and we have been very impressed with them so far. All our other pumps are MP40s, we used to have MP60s but they are just so damn big and they always fall down so we just got rid of them. MP40s have their flaws but we will probably always have one or two.

Another vote for Jebao's. I almost purchased two AI Orbits a couple weeks ago. They were 20% off on BRS. I wound up not pulling the trigger. I just couldn't justify spending close to $600 when I can get two Jebao gyres for a little over $200. I know that in most cases you get what you pay for but I haven't had any issues with Jebao's.

47x18x16

The guard is nem protection and better flow angles(comes with 3 types). Its not needed, but worth considering.

I still have to play with postions of the mp40 and dmp 40. Its overkill currently with how I have it set up. Hopefully be able to tinker with it when I get home

Let me know I’m using 2 dmp 40s on a 200 gallon 72x30x22 having issues with positions

I have flow guard on my mp40 so I can close off/choose where the flow goes.
I just had to move some corals around and lower the mp40 to 30% and keep the dmp40 at 30%. Still doing some trial and error. Like I said, the dmp40 has a replacement cage w/ different flows. The guy also makes add-ons to direct the flow as well

First picture is mp40
2nd dmp 40

Dmp40 bottom left

Also the Jebao quieter than my MP40.

Interesting I’m basically running both at 40% each in normal mode

So I eneded up poppin for 2 MP40's from Reefco. Couldn't pass them up as I had $75 in bonus points built up. Plan on puting one at each end of the tank (8ft.). Might still need an MP60 to flush out the back side of the tank. We shall see. I am sooooo over gyres!

You and me both!! Hate the setup of the gyres when you say one on each end you do tou both pushing the front and the up alone in the back?

I have one Gyre. Took it apart to clean put it together and obecside won't spin. If I take it apart the motor works fine on both sides. It's just sitting in a box.
