Looking at a 2 gallon jar. Agree, not a lot of water. My bigger concern is that I manage to spill some water on the floor/counter every single time I do a water change/stick my hand in the tank. Doing that in my tiled fish room is one thing. In my carpted corporate office, it is quite another...
My skimmer has been a little wonky lately. I think it is still getting used to the system as I add livestock. The other day, it was continuously overflowing. I adjusted water level and air level and now the bubles are breaking just before flowing into the collection cup but still no skimmate...
I am running activated carbon. I think the smell is a combination of: (i) the phyto feeder container; (ii) the (refigerated-in-wine-cooler) reef nutrition feed; and (iii) my trimming of my fuge two weeks ago but leaving the timmed algae in an open bucket in the room for two weeks.
I obviously...
So now that the a/c and fans are off, I'm noticing a distinct smell. Kind of smells like rotting algae for lack of a better description. Everything in tank is fine.
I'm starting to think this is just the result from keeping 4 tanks, a sump and the kids' Betta fish in the same isolated room...
I’m less worried about our janitorial contractors (unfortunately, I’m usually still in my office when the night crew comes) than I am about the amount of time maintenance would take.
Im thinking of a reef jar.
I don’t mean suggest I would never do water changes. I just meant I don’t want to be doing them multiple times a week (lugging saltwater to the office is going to be a pain) and having to top off twice a day every day.
Sorry to bring up an old thread. I'm contemplating starting a pico tank in my office (office office, not home office). Looking for advice from those that have made these setups? How much a headache is it going to be? I don't want to be chasing perameters or constantly toping off and doing...

I was setting this up for display, so it still needs to be fitted for a sump. Obviously that price included the overflow, so I would give up the tank much less than that. You would just...
As I am growing my new system (and getting older) I find that I often forget coral names as they move around my frag tank and make their way into the display tank.
Anyone have good ideas on how to keep track of corals?
