i got 18 years outa mine---and i had a 20 year warrenty on it---and it started leaking from the top---i went to HD---bought one and within a few hours , was making hot water again---it is easy if your handy---

aint that the truth--you retire with all kinds of plans for your free time...and what happens---something always comes up thats more important---i've started a 55 real salt water tank--few small green crabs,4 shrimp, 1 stickleback and bout 25 small killies---now i want more and different...
i must say paul i am VERY envious of you---being able to collect different kinds of FREE fish and the fun you have collecting them!!!!
and then being able to sit at home and enjoy them........
my problem is not enough time!!!! and summer is coming to an end

you use a 50 75 ft net??? that is one loooooooooooong seining net----i used a 30 ft---which was more then enough---but, it dry rotted after not being used for the last 25 years and when the water hit it a few weeks ago it just broke apart---(ordered a new one already)----

with a 20 gal. glass tank, to be used as a sump, do you use glass or acrylic for the baffles?
will the silicone hold one better then the other?
damn---that really sucks----i feel for ya----in 1994, blew out my 2 bottom discs---had to have surgery, spine is fused in 3 spots...back still hurts to this day---i can tell ya when a storm is coming even when the sun is still shinning!!!

i went to shark river a few weeks ago to do some collecting, but, my 35 ft seining net, which i had for more then 25 years, just feel apart from dry rot---so i couldn't do any seining.

whats the name of that pump---would be interesting to check it out---
you would need a large tank to be able to ' try' to reproduce a ' true' ocean setting in a tank
that's deep paul---and its all true---i always wanted to stay with smaller fish in a big tank to try to mimic the ocean----
it would be a big undertaking to even try to mimic a ' true ' ocean setup ---can you imagine what that setup would look like and the time you would have to spend on it each...
