    Floating Rock Scape

So there I was with a hammer and chisel, just breaking a large piece of rock. Then I remember I have a large pail of rubble rock.. so it's a mix n match of random rubble? Some of it used to be live corals. Nothing specific, sorry I couldn't tell you more haha.

Filled that bad boy up for a leak test. Looks good, acrylic rod barely visible under the shadow.

HAPPY NEW YEAR! & Nano Reef Update #1

Maybe consider something like this, attached by magnets. They sell a lot of different shapes and sizes. I'm sure with some creativity, you can create the perfect scape you're looking for.

    I hate bristle worms.

Got it all plumbed, 2 new residents. Might have to starve them a little so they devour with gusto.

If you keep them out of the water, you won't have to worry about parameters. ;)

Check out my first SPS, not bad for a 2 day old tank.

Acrylic rod attached. Supporting the PVC directly. Should be more than enough. Now I can finally sleep at night. :D

Who am I looking at? The yellow coris wrasse? (If that's what it is).

    I hate bristle worms.

In light of their abundance. I've decided to create an arena of sorts. Anybody I pull out shall have their fate decided by arrow crabs and/or coral bandit shrimps.. as opposed to just being flushed. May the odds be never in their favor.

    I hate bristle worms.

Here's my bristleworm trap, loaded with floss in the middle, food on one end. Hoping they get trapped and tangled in there, and can't make it out.

That's fair. The PVC is cemented in already. Maybe next time. Because there will always be a next time. Trial and error never stops.

Contemplated that. I think aesthetically that would be even worse than the acrylic rod haha.

    I hate bristle worms.

Lights winding down, walked by the tank and saw this guy. Speak of the devil, they're everywhere. Damn thing must've been at least 6 inches long.

    I hate bristle worms.

So you actually see your crab eat them? I wish mine would go hunting for em, tear them from the home..

    Floating Rock Scape

You know, it was the weirdest thing. I was trying and trying to find a 1 inch plug, instead of a cap. Couldn't find any online or hardware stores. Considered doing a ball valve set up coming out the side so I can drain the tank for water changes too.. couldn't really find anything that size. So...

    Floating Rock Scape

Yes it is. And yes I'm afraid of the glass cracking haha. As suggested above, I'll likely add a piece of clear acrylic rod at the end of the rock to alleviate some of the downward weight. Hope it can still maintain the floating illusion though.

    I hate bristle worms.

My trap has been a short piece of PVC. Capped on each end, one side with a small hole. Middle filled with filter floss, the other end with food. The worms wriggle to get to the food, some getting tangled, some make it through but it's been tough to entice them to leave their rocks to even go in...

    I hate bristle worms.

I like my fish fat and healthy, so I feed pretty heavy.. with that, comes a ton of bristle worms and I absolutely hate them. They give me the heebie jeebies. I've tried wrasses, but for some reason whenever I get one, they'll be around for a day or 2, then never to be seen again. They could be...

    Floating Rock Scape

That's the plan right now, but I have a 1 inch thick acrylic rod, clear.. or a ¼ inch pink, used for pointing out frags. One seems overkill, ¼ would be obnoxiously bright.
