I'm pretty sure you can use 2 pumps if you want 1 for each tank. then you'll won't have as much headlose ether.

Hey guys, I've been wondering about this and figured i would just ask. How much room do most hang on skimmers give you to fit over the rim of the tank? Also what hang on skimmer would be a good choice for a 55gal reef? Thank you, ~Nick

That's what i was wondering because 4-6, 4" fish is a pretty big bio load in a 55gal... I started looking at clowns, dart fish and reef safe wrasses. What size of a yellow tang is to big? 4-5"? Also like the Convict Tang. any experience? Nick

Thanks guys, The tank was an upgrade (Upgraded 2 months old) I've only got a few corals. 8-10 types of Zoa, open brain, unknown anemone and shrooms. Lights 2-11000k and 2-actinic Just tested Alk= 2.2mil, pH= 8.0, Ammonia= 0ppm, Nitrite= 0ppm, Nitrate= 0ppm, sanity 1.022 and temp 78.2

I'm using there Retro fit kit on my 55gal. I did a lot of research and heard they were good enough for SPS. I plan on keeping some sps and maybe a clam down the road. Ice cap are the only better T5's if i remember right and that's only when you over power the bulbs, Not sure if you can do that...
