How's the salt creep by the plug have seen that cause issues like that. I had to throw out a metal power strip ,because every time i got with in 2 inches of it I got electrocuted by it.
have only used fans on my 265 with ac-jr to control the temp. When the temp goes up the fan comes on at set temp in the ac-jr and it brings it down the fan shuts off.
after check and control the phos level, the best way to get it out is to remove as-much-as possible by syphon or by hand. the snails will control future outbreaks. This is what has aways worked for me GOODLUCK
According to manufacture the unit is good for 10 years. All I know is I have had one on a 120 for over 2 years and the only thing I have ever seen reduce my algae is phosphate reactor
As far as the fan in the canopy you also need to to have vents to let the air out from under the canopy They should be directly oppsite the flow of the air. example if the fan is on left there should be vents on the right to let the heated air out good luck
If the tank is an AGA the bottom is temp. and should not be drilled If it is a perfecto(Marineland) tank it is not tempered I found this information out by going to there web sites Most of the aga have a little emblem on the front left as you look at the tank ::) another way to tell the type...
don't waste your money have had one on a 120 fish only tank i see no difference in water parameters then on a tank that dose not have one The X150 has been installed for over 2 years
