Where in NJ are you?
If you arent too far from Philly there are 2 near here that are up and running.
One is at Big Als in Norristown, PA. Mostly softies and zoas, but I dont think it makes the system look good because they built the rock too high in the middle and it blocks a lot of the light...
I agree with John.
Use a coarse nylon brush and really scrub the rock well...dunking it in the saltwater to loosen everything up. Also make sure you have lots of newly made saltwater handy to add back into the tank.
Run through every step in your head and on paper...just to make sure you dont...
Wanted some opinions...
For my 72g BOWFRONT I am contemplating a 36" light fixture.
Few reasons:
1. Because of my skimmer and filter setup (on either side of the tank) I cant use a 48" setup that sits ON the tank
2. I am not too crazy about hanging anything from the ceiling
3. Because the...
Cool. Do you like the CPR? The only negative I see to it is the fact the pump is in the main tank...wish there was some way to change it so the pump actually sat in the fuge itself.
So I took some measurements...
The legs of the light need to be the "foot" kind...not the kind that run the entire width of the light.
They need to be at least 7" apart
They need to hold the light at least 4" above the rim of the tank.
OK...here is why I am having trouble finding a MH fixture that will work.
1. I cannot use a hanging pendant
2. I have my Remora skimmer on the SIDE of the tank
So I am stuck finding a 48" MH system that has legs that will sit on the edge of the tank but will still allow the skimmer to hang on...
Help me get my thoughts together on a clam only tank...or a clam bed type tank.
I was thinking somewhere along the lines of a 40 or 50 breeder...open "look down" or zero edge wont work.
I would like to hear ideas and opinions as far as:
lighting, K temp of bulbs, color of sand, filtration...
I Dont have experience with this specific kit, but I have purchased things from nanotuners in the past and have always found their quality to be excellent and installation easy.
I would highly recommend them anytime.
I like the look of the Aquablues.
I dont know the type of actinic...the regular plain actinic that came with this cheap ass setup!
Raider: I would love to come by and check out the tank. I wish I could get more time away from work. Worked ust over 90 hours last week! :P
