years ago I made one out of 1x3 and chicken wire
it worked out well
i like the pve idea you can change it up whenever you would like
you can secure the netting with zip ties
try putting a coarse sponge on the output of the skimmer
that should help trap the bubbles and let them escape by working themselves out of the top of the sponge closer to the surface
I think i am completley safgaurded.
I don't know if I need to but should i put a floatswitch in the overflow box to cut off the return pump if the level goes too high?
I have my return and a 1" drain in the box.
My overflow box has small slits and a cover also.
I want to avoid floods at all costs
I switched out the JBJ auto top off for a autotopoff.com unit
For my application it works much better because it is more sensiitive, I added a selinoid to the end so i don't have extra water training since the line rus in the ceiling and down the wall to the tank, and i have a slow pump so now...
I had done it on my old tank. I wound up adding silicone on the sides of the weather stripping anyway for extra support on the baffels. I had my highest baffel set to the hight that was optimal for my skimmer
I have a mag 7
it skimmed when my filtersock was dirty. Is my sock catching everything and there just isn't much for the skimmer to get. The tank is only 3 weeks old. Low bioload also as of now
