bigred has a good point you didnt setup your dividers in a bubble trap from.
heres a picture of what we mean
water goes over the first, under the second, and then oveer the last one and into the pump chamber. The water trickles down the final divider and should get rid of all bubbles
you need a place for the air to go. best thing to do is put a Y on your intake so thatthe air escapes out the top

yup that'll work. I picked up a check valve from lowes for mine, hasn't failed me yet. Only thing about the water change, when you open that valve coming off the line from the pump its going to shoot the water OUT not suck water in.
all the pictures are taken on a konica minolta dimage Z2 its a 4mp camera. Wish i could afford a nice digital SLR with a macro lens but dont have anywhere near that kind of money

and i know the red scooter blenny is just about everyones favorite but sadly he has taken refuge to the rock work. I rarely get to see him lately he knows how to hide. Also the shrimp is hiding still.
sorry forgot to tell you guys here i had tested the camera and had it setup the other day but then took it down to build the underwater housing for it. I'm hoping to have it back up some time tomorow i'll let you know.
