Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
I started about 3 weeks ago with Brightwell's NeoZeo (in a Kent Phosphate reactor, which works really well for shaking it up).
Noticed tremendous growth and coloration right off the bat. I bought a Superman monti from GregW and a crayola acropora from him. The acro had fallen on the monti at...
I like his shop a lot, but I never understood why some people thought his prices were drastically lower than others. There might be a small discount on some, but overall I thin his prices are in line on most things and sometimes slightly more.
JMO, though. He certainly does have healthy...
It's a snail eating flatwork.
Will at AO had one in his tank. He was wondering why his snails kept disappearing. Those suckers are RIDICULOUSLY predatory against snails, but it's all they eat. You could keep it if you didn't mind losing snails every now and then.
Wow, yeah they do look different up close from Lori's Anthias. Quite a bit different. Where did you get them and do you find them an easy to keep species? They are gorgeous.
They might never pair up. They could pair up in 5 minutes. It's different with every clown.
Perculas/False Perculas usually take the longest and have seem to not take more often than not as well.
If you give a minimum 6 inches between all Euphyllia species, they should be fine. Bubbles, torches, frogspawn, hammer, etc. will all attack their other Euphyllia cousins, so they do need the space between them and other corals.
It seems that 5ml will raise the magnesium level of 1/2 a gallon by 60ppm.
So, for a 46g tank, you'd need to add quite a bit I'm guessing. Unless I read that wrong.
I hope it works out for. I love them. I always wanted one but I haven't taken the dive. I never had a tank big enough (in my opinion) to keep one, anyways.
Filter wise, I would just say that you should get a small hang on filter just to run some Polyfilter (skip carbon and go right to Polyfilter). It will help a lot especially if you want to go full blown reef in the future.
You could get a canister filter, also, if you're doing fish only. If you...
There is no reason to say you unfortunately ordered the skimmer, because you just ordered the best hang on the back skimmer money can buy (unless you wanted to shell out $600 for a Deltec!).
I have an Aqua C Remora. It's the best skimmer I've ever known for the price. You made a good purchase...
I think you'll see good results. I have seen tremendous polyp extension/growth since I started using Brightwell's amino acids and Vitamin C and Vitamin M supplements.
