If he's going to use a reef salt and keep softies for now, I wouldn't think he'd need to supplement anything as long as he does weekly 10% water changes. I mean, I run an LPS/SPS system and I never supplement calcium as my weekly water changes add all that I need.

Catalina gobies, a lot of boxfish, garibaldi damsels etc. There are quite a bit of great coldwater fish.

I don't see why not. They should be able to get them if they don't have them. And yeah, they give you a 10% discount on all purchases. You show them your card once and they put it into the computer along with the expiration date and it's in there permanently.

I don't know if you have your card, but Trop gives a 10% discount to card carrying members.

The only "freshwater" fish I would ever dream of using as a feeder are mollies (but they are brackish/marine fish more than freshwater, anyway) -- and even them for only a short time. Stay away from feeders in general.
