I have never had any issues with the sponge restricting flow but again I clean the sponge about once a month

i have the same setup running for about 6 months or more have the same snotty looking stuff in the sponge not having any problems at all i would say nothing to worry about

i was looking at the reefbrite strips and i think i can mount them to the side of the light. the mh and the t5s all have there own plugs.this way we can just run the mh with the led's. we were the lucky owner of the solars led light system that came out a couple years ago lol worst light i ever...
