always told the GF no way on these fish until she read this article
http://www.advancedaquarist.com/2005/9/lines
was wondering how a reef tank would do without crabs/shrimp/snails.
the GF really wants a puffer or a dwarf lion fish. i would be willing to give up inverts, unless it would be...
well it wouldn't defeat the fuges' purpose if said fish was small and did not eat pods or macro algae. and there is no sand in the fuge so deitrus would easily be blow out of the fuge and into a filter sock( only run when trying to clean up fuge a bit).
i know it was a long shot but no...
just got my 50g fuge up and running. it only has chatoe and some live rock. what else can i put in there aside from crabs and snails.
the GF wants a puffer but i don't think its feasible...is it?
is there any other non reef safe fish that would be ok to put in there. keeping in mind that i am...
has anyone had micro bubble issues with these things. i have already tried a different return pump and turned of all powerheads and skimmer but im still getting micro bubbles
been up and running for about two weeks.
moved everything from my 50g.
specs:
75g RR
29g sump
50g fuge with just some chatoe and LR, trying to keep a high population of pods for the manderin.
fuge is lit with 2x96w power compacts.
aqua medic oceanlight 250w 10k MH. Just one for now, getting...
i am getting my 50g drilled, i don't fully understand the need for overflow boxs' in/external. are they necessary, what do they do.
would it not be wise to just have the two holes on the top back wall of the tank one with a strainer and one for the return. or get the bottom of the tank drilled...
i have a 250w MH over my 50g 36x18 and i don't see a dim spot in the tank. if anything it just allows me to put lower light demanding corals to the sides of the tank., you would probably be good with a 150w, it would deffinitly blow PC's out of the water, going from PC to MH was one of the best...
anyone know where in north jersey i can get some filter socks, finally found a diy way to mount the socks for cheap, or if someone has some for sale that would be even better.
when making my sump i overlooked something(of course). I have an aquaclear 901 as my return pump thats about 900gph, after head i assume its no more then 600gph, but still to much for my fuge, i have heard the flow through the fuge must be relatively slow. my skimmer is set up as so....skimmer...
i have a CSS65 that works pretty well, i was just wondering if i put a limewood airstone like these
http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=9851&Ntt=limewood&Ntk=All&Ntx=mode+matchallpartial&Np=1&pc=1&N=0&Nty=1
into the bottom of the skimmer(fed through the top) if it...
i moved mine up in my rockwork about 2 month ago. when i did it i thought i had killed it because all of the branches shriveled up and fell of, about a week later i had like 15 branches spread throughout my whole tank and now some of the branches are bigger then the original tree
i guess im more wondering if it will be ok being at the bottom corner of my tank, it gets light, but im sure its not as intense light as it would be in other places. will it regain its color?
ive had a peice of xenia for about 8 months, it grew some when i first got it, then growth stunted until about two weeks ago, it went from one head to 4. if i cut the peices connecting the xenia to eachother will that cause the peice i cut to grow a new head...
i got it from "the fish tank" on RT46, i think its in saddlebrook, they still had some more. the nem was under 250w MH at the store , the same as my tank. and the brown sand comes and goes, i have tried adding alot of flow but it did not prevent it, increasing flow worked well when the sand was...
