Who watched the Machida/shogun fight last night? That was just about the most disgraceful judging I have ever seen. They should be ashamed of themselves.
this is more of an observation post than anything. i have about 30 pounds of live rock that I am "cooking" in a rubbermaid container with 2 powerheads and a heater. Its been in there for a month now and my routine is that I change out 100% of the water every saturday and replace with fresh RODI...
i got two of these monsters for my already cycled 29g. I acclimated them for about a half hour and they are now sliming all over the tank in the moonlights. Will they try to leave the tank? Is there anything else I should know about these bohemoths?
i always believed that reefs were harder to maintain than the fresh tanks i had. Planted high tech setups are more work and so are discus. Reefs just seem to be more expensive.
what are those little tubular looking things that I see on live rock in the wedges? They look like little dead worms. most of them are the color of the rock but just wormy looking. Are they bad?
Does anyone have supplemental sunlight peeking through the window on their tanks? How do the corals respond to this? Would it encourage extra algae growth?

that substrate is actually soilmaster select grey which is pretty nice and it soaks up nutrients well for those root feeders. I still have tons of it left. turns out its kind of rare these days as lesco doesnt make that color anymore.
Thanks, every time I do a water change and move stuff around the water gets cloudy so thats not even in its full glory. I also need a better camera this point and shoot stuff isnt cutting it.
I just rescaped the 75, it used to be a high light co2 and ferts setup but I went away to costa rica for the summer and couldnt maintain it. So now its all low light plants and I think it looks good for low light. Lets see your tanks!
