How long can SPS stay exposed during WC?

I've had mine exposed for 2-3 hours, but that was in the summer when the ambient air was warmer- you should be ok for 20 or 30 minutes

Here's how it's gonna sit: and the plan to "finish off" the top piece and trim instead of looking at the plywood layers This way, I have all 25.5 inches of top to work with. Plus, I know for a fact that the tank's plastic edges won't be resting on the wooden trim alone...

    Merv's new 40 gallon build

I ended up going with the 45 cube Reef ready like yours :) I got tired of chasing custom tank builders who wanted astronomical prices, inability to help me out amongst other inconveniences- besides, Will got me such a great price on the tank (not to mention answering my PM's almost...

the most silent of all the ones I've tried- the only noise I hear is the cascade of the water going down in the sump.

    Poll: best type of overflow

How about a stockman standpipe? it's like a modified standard standpipe. It's been on the tank for almost 4 years now and only had to clean it once because I don't like to clean! http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=535632&perpage=25&pagenumber=19

    Merv's new 40 gallon build

I hope that helps explain a little bit, I've never been good at explaining stuff, but I can build them with no problem. I guess that's why my buddy building the sump kept asking me you want me to do it how?!? And then? And then? Could you send me plans to follow?

    Merv's new 40 gallon build

No, it's 20.5 think of the construction this way: Bottom piece sits flat on the table front panel stands up and slides against the bottom. Glue. Rear panel does the same. The side panel stands up and slides toward the structure. Glue. Thin strip of acrylic goes on top of the side panels. 2"...

    Merv's new 40 gallon build

I got a little confused myself after looking at the plans- I'm sorry guys... The side panels actually glue from the outside, and there is a little brace (like euro-brace) that I will be requesting to be placed on top as a lip, just on both ends. I forgot to add that in the plans since they...

    Merv's new 40 gallon build

I ended up having to resort to plan B today. The cold and stain were just not cooperating, I ran up to the hardware store again and bought myself a small can of oil based gloss black paint to apply onto the stand. I also bought a disposable brush since I would only need one coat of paint...
