    Flatworms

That is the whole point of syphoning it back into the sump (I assume you have one) :) . The filter paper will capture the worms and you thow it afterwards, and the water goes back into the tank. Since worms are not dying, the will not be releasing the toxins. Just be carefull not to get too much...

    Flatworms

I am a bit curious why sixline stopped eating them if it was eating them before. Would it be possible for you to isolate some of the fish (chromis and clowns) and then stop feeding the wrasse and blenny (I would keep the blenny to compete with wrasse over pods). Syphoning is very easy but...

    Humidity Issues

I have house AC that was causing me the problem for years , by making the air very dry, both in cool and hot mode. I solved the problem by installing a reef tank that evaporates 1 gal per day ;D

Why not get the kids involved!

I am taking that to extreme, I haven't changed water or fed fish or did absolutely anything in FW 55 gal for almost 2 years. ;D (with exception of adding total of maybe 10-15 gal of evaporated water per year).

Why not get the kids involved!

Don't be disappointed. Guppies are becoming extremely hard to maintain. I guess from all the crossbreeding their stock is becoming very weak. And most of them are coming with TB to which they succumb very shortly.

    Do you swim in lakes?

The reason why this stroy is really scary and is circulating around is that the number of cases has dramaticaly increased this year. While it could be a statistical fluke, it could be a new trend as well. The real concern is whether there is something that has sytematically changed in fawor of...

    Brown Jelly ????

I took a look on the web for brown jelly and have found quite a few sites. These advocate the iodine dips. I assume you have already tried that and the rest of the stuff they are talking about. http://www.ericborneman.com/Brown%20Jelly%20/Brown%20Jelly.html...

Question about my 70w MH JBJ

I will try to answer though I am not really an expert (nor did I stay in the Holiday Inn ;D ) Not sure if you can effectively test this. You can certainly try to see the resistance of the heating elements (filaments) and if they are conductive they might be OK, but that still doesn't mean that...

Maroon clown making a sand storm!!!

Just to clarify the morphing/maturing process of clowns (only for those that do not know this already ;D ). From the group of sexually neutral (juvenile) one grows larges and becomes female, second in size becomes male and the rest of the group remains sexually neutral, until one of those two is...

    clowns + spawning

In order for them to spawn they have to have both right enviromental conditions and sexual conditions (one of them maturing/morfing into male and the other into female and well establishing that relationship AND being attracted to each other to spawn). In nature, clowns spawn all year around and...

    Skimmer OR Refugium?

As Carlo has pointed out it all depends on what you want to keep inside. If you plan to keep any fish that you will be feeding regularly, skimmer is a better choice even if you change water once or twice a day (just that should be reason enough ;D ). With corals only, and no additions of...

    Japanese Reefing ...

That is the beauty of them, that the corals are mature and grown. Give them a few more years ad they would build atolls in those tanks :) Btw, TwinReef's tank is almost there. If he wasn't fragging, it probably would be there by now.

    Brown Jelly ????

I would go with squeezed real thing. I am not sure that all antibiotic components would survive in Kent's solution.
