Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Please do your research before you buy fish. Minimum tank requirements for any of the fish you have are at least 100g. They are really stressed out on that 55, and even when you get into that 125g I personally think is going to be tooooooo smallllll for all those fish. I will suggest looking at...
I have not had any heat issues with my tank so far. My canopy is open so that might help I'm also running 2x4" icecap fans that actually drops my temperature to by 1 degree when lights are on. I will see how this works out on my new closed canopy.
Icecap retro kit. I'm also doing a 120g. I'll be using 8xt5 with 2x660 icecap ballast that will overdrive bulbs from 54w to 80w. I personally think that if you pick up the parts "end caps, standoffs, reflectors, ballast" separately is cheaper than the icecap retro kit.
Do you guys think I will need a center vertical post in the front and back of this stand? I will really like to keep the front without one.
Stand dimension:
48"x24"
top is 2x6, bottom is 2x4 and corner post are 3 2x4 screw together.
will be a mix reef with the majority SPS and zoas. I'm still looking at my options on the sump and refugium. I will really like to have a refugium in separate tank.
After a long debate and a possible move within 1 year I finally made the decision between a 180g and a 120g tank.
I went with the 120G :( I just thought it will be easier to move and once I get to the new place I could always upgrade ;).
I need suggestions with an external return pump for a...
I need some advice with how to stain wood. I getting ready to built my new stand/canopy and really want to give it a cherry color. I have previously stain wood but I know I did it the wrong way, most of the time it was in small scales so it didn't matter.
Any advice or links will help.
Thanks...
Well I'm not sure what brands they were but I think they were AGA. I was also thinking it might be too good to be true and if they do have 180g tanks for that price on their anniversary sale it might be only one. That's why I was wondering if is worth the drive and waiting till next month.
I know some people attended last year, I want to know if is worth taking the 2 hour drive and waiting to buy a tank there on their $1 per gallon sale. I was going to buy a 180g but if is worth waiting for the sale I'll wait.
Please let me know
Thanks
Today I'm starting with bac7 and biofuel. We should start a thread just dedicated to brightwell "neozeo method, I wish I had a better camera so I could take before and after pictures.
Re: Jasonanatal's 120 gallon "Natural Simplicity" Reef Aquarium.
You should really do some reading on neozeo or zeovit methods. A lot of people are having great success with them, I personally started using neozeo without the stones. Do you use any phosphate remover?
