Best Way to Catch a Fish?

Just saw this post... Wish I had seen it earlier. Ya shoulda checked on www.wetwebmedia.com ;) http://www.wetwebmedia.com/movelvstkfaqs.htm One of the least invasive, semi-successful ways to catch a fish is using light shock. :o Ideally, you would do this in the middle of your fishes night...

I'm so very sorry for your loss. I've had to put a number of cats to sleep and it's always hard whether you know it's coming or not. You are in my thoughts. Michelle

I'm not sure yet, I would like to, but I work night shifts so it depends on how I sleep/how I feel the day of the event. I know 1pm doesn't seem early, but you're 2.5 hours from me and 10 am is pretty early when you generally don't go to bed until 6 or 7am! :o

Hi Ryan, There are a few things you should do in preparation for your shopping trip. You should have extra saltwater made up as when you acclimate you will use water from your system and will likely need to add more before you're done. You should do all of your basic testing and know where...

What are you feefing your fish?

I highly recommend New Life Spectrum foods. We get a lot of positive feedback on www.wetwebmedia.com on this food Watch the video, is Pablo Tapoot's personal tank. Pretty impressive 1800 gallon tank eh? http://nlsfishfood.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=28&Itemid=42 I still don't...

Your quite welcome Ryan! Just remember to take things slow, you are solely responsible for all the lives in that box of water and there is much to learn. You should know the needs, care requirements (diet, shelter, tank conditions) and be aware of compatibility issues and researched the natural...

Hi Ryan I would second the avoidance of crabs. Nearly all are opportunistic omnivores and can't really be trusted. Yes, they are fun to watch, but, they will kill your snails and can damage corals, especially LPS if/when they walk on them...

Well, this is a good place to learn. There are many wonderful people here that will guide you. I would recommend investing in a book. The Conscientious Marine Aquarist has a new edition out. It has a Lemon Peel Angel on the cover. This is a great book that you will refer to as long as you have a...

    Tank crisis!

I second the hydrometer. At the very least take a water sample to your LFS and see what they get for a salinity reading. Swing arms can be notoriously inaccurate. Your fishes just might be swimming in fresh water, not the Dead Sea!

    Reaquascaping for hours!!!

An excellent example of allowing room for growth can be seen in Rich Durso's tank. Look at what that Montipora frag grew into! http://www.rl180reef.com/180/index.html

    Reaquascaping for hours!!!

I think it looks pretty nice, but there are actually some "guidelines" that might help you out. Scott Fellman is doing arather amusing presentation on this called "Aquascaping for the Aesthetically Challenged on October 11, 2008 in New Windsor, NY. They stay pretty tiny, like smaller than a pea. Sometimes you will see a bloom excessive nutrients are present in the system, but they are generally found in varying quantities in most aquariums.

Hello Sirfragalot, The bottom pic shows Spiral tube feather duster (Spirorbids), which are harmless filter feeders, sometimes they have beautiful red crowns. http://www.wetwebmedia.com/invertid29.htm Page down on the link and you can see a blurry pic there as well. ;) The top pic is a mullusc...

    Celebrating my 1 year anniversary

Wendy, Look at that tank! :o It's amazing! If you can do that, you can do most anything. Don't beat yourself up. It doesn't benefit anyone. It won't help you or those you love. Treat yourself kindly. Talk positively to yourself. Our weight has nothing to do with our worth. You have value simply...
