    ID Please

I’m interested also. I have the same thing in one of my tanks but only one rock. I would take the rock out, pick all the red bubbles off and put the rock back in. It would never go away and be back in a month. It has never spread to the other rocks so I just leave it alone now. But, I always...

    Material Recommendations for basic stuff

Hi Gabe, I have never had any luck like you are with Rio PH. Mine always seem to fail on me. Years ago, I had one leak the oily substance (killed the tank) and another that would shock me when I put my hand in the sump. That was enough for me to take them out of all my tanks. They do work great...

    Material Recommendations for basic stuff

Hi Volk, The Hydros and Tunzes (both are prop powerheads) have a wide flow. With a Maxi-Jet or any other powerhead, the flow is more of a jet of water. I have 2 Tunzes 6025 in a 15gal SPS cube and the flow is just right. The tank is BB, otherwise it would be a major sand storm. So, to answer...

    Material Recommendations for basic stuff

Hi Volk, The MJ 1200 will put out a lot of heat. If you can get away with it I would get the MJ 900, less watts and heat. Same goes for the Rio. They are known to fail. I’m not sure about the newer models but the old one would leak some type of oil into the tank along with stray voltage. Take a...

    Material Recommendations for basic stuff

Hi Volk, What are the 3 test kits that you are buying that are all the same but different quantity, 45, 80, 60?  Are these the test kits that you dip a strip of paper to tell you the values, the reason I asked is because they are not very accurate.  Is the Maxi-jet 400 for mixing you salt water...

May 2007 Meeting: Saturday May 19th (Moorestown)

This will be my first meeting, YEA. I wanted to come to the Feb meeting (2 min form my house) but my brother picked that day to get married. What do people usually bring and is it OK to drag my wife with me even though she is not a member? Jon

Single MH pendant for 4ft tank?

Since you are going fish only I would stick with 2 T5’s. Less heat, and with summer coming hanging a MH in your living room will heat up that space, they cost less, the bulbs last about 18+ months and you won’t have to worry about the center brace. Jon

can any one drill three tanks for me (pine hill)

If you want to try drilling it yourself the Aquarium Center in Blackwood will rent or lend you the drill bit. What size bulkhead are you going to use? I have drilled many tanks (only my own tanks) and it is really easy if you take your time and don’t heat up the glass. Jon

    Starting 12 gallon nano cube

Hey Fishrdp, I was in there today and picked up the same tank, 12gal DX. I was talking to Bill (the owner??) and he sold me the one on the floor for $100.00 but it doesn't have the moonlights in it. Did the one you bought have the moonlights (LED's)? Jon

    Expert advise on acrylic?

You were looking in SNJ so here are some places for you. I get my acrylic from E&T Plastics in Mount Laurel, near the mall. So far they have had the best sheet prices, about $75 for a sheet of 4 x 8 x ¼. The last time I was there, about a month ago, the guy said the prices would be going up a...
