Sorry, my old trusty Dell finally collapsed on me, but I'm back online! lol He should do fine, he was in a tank with a damsel. If he doesn't get along, bring him on back! No problem there.
I would assume it's a lighting depth issue. I've had the best luck up high blasting the monti with light. I moved one down to midway in my tank and the polyps didn't extend at all. My system is under 3w Cree LED's and they're sustaining just fine up high.
I've had them hatch once before, usually within a few days (or from when I noticed). chances are most fish, inverts, and even the parent shrimp themselves may consume the eggs. Usually the babies end up in the filter. It's possible though, but hard to sustain and feed the newborns. There's...
I broke down one of my tanks due to a hitch-hiker issue, and moved this guy into my QT tank. He's beautiful and actually quite docile for a maroon clown. About 4" in size. Would need to probably be the only clown of the reef tank, or in a Fish Only or FOWLR tank. He's very fat and healthy...
I have 2 Large Engineer Gobies 12-14" easy.... Free to a good home. Currently they're in my sump, awaiting a new home. They are communal fish and do best not split up. Please know that they are great, reef safe fish, but will move sand and substrate until they make their burrow and get...
Pink is for some reason a harder color to keep. I've suffered from that problem before with them. From what a few folks who deal with them have told me, they tend to be a deeper water zoa. I've found through trials and tribulations, that if they're in a shady spot they seem to open much better.
My brother has done a lot of research on this. He's built his nano hood with all Cree 3w LED's, and I had him build a 90 LED setup for my tank, in two separate boxes of 45 LED's with 3 colors independently controlled. I purchased those from Aquastyleonline, just to save cost. Honestly, he's...
I've had success removing them by taking a razor blade and cutting the mat around them, then picking them off with the tip of the blade. The toxins, if any, are stored in the polyps head, and not the base. You would have to squish the polyp, or cut the head in half with the razor to release any...
