My tank temp is up to 85 degrees during this weather. Is that ok for the fish, inverts and corals? I don't expect the temp to rise any more but I am contemplating a chiller I just don't have the room for it underneath. What would be the ideal temp for my 120 H gallon system?
I have a candy cane coral frag with two heads and a third forming. Can someone axplain what happens when these begin to die off. The heads seem to look ok with some tentacles coming out but the flesh part only goes a little bit down behind the heads then bare hard calcium looking coral starts...
I picked up a decent size long tentacle anemone. I am running a 120 gal 24 inch tall tank with T-5 lighting. Any suggestions on where to place this guy. Do they like lots of light near top, middle or on sand. Also does it prefer heavy water flow or is less better?
Does anyone have any input or experience with these "Pacific Coast Flow Accelerator FA-400 3/4in" and if so does it work. It is supposed to increase output flow by 400%. I saw them on e-bay and don't want to waste money if it does not work.
I have a decent size six line wrasse in the tank so maybe he can keep busy eating these guys. I just wanted to make sure that I did not "open a can of worms" by placing these things in my tank that will kill other stuff.
I just picked up a nice anemone on a rock. I placed it in my tank and noticed the rock was loaded with bristle worms. I am new to this. How will these critters affect my tank? And if they are a pest how can I get rid of them?
I think I might try two koralia 4's on the sides and maybe one more in the middle to start. I think if I go with a koralia stronger than the 4 in my tank it will blow the substrate from the bottom up and make a mess.
I am running a 120 gallon 22" tall tank with one koralia 4 mounted on back left side facing on downward angle. Any suggestions on how much more water movement is suggested for corals and fish. I was thinking of one more koralia 4 but don't know where it should be placed. I am running an eheim...
Hello, my name is Jerry and I live in Toms River with my wife, two children and two dogs. I am a police officer. In my spare time I work on the house and on my tank. I have had setups before but never had the money to do it "right". Now I do and I really enjoy the quiet time working on the tank...
