You may want to get a smaller pipe for the return to DT from overflow. This way you can place a lid on it to prevent light spill resulting in unwanted algae clogging up the overflow. Even if you are hanging lights you will want a top cover on that overflow.
Still toying with the idea. Dosing 170 ml each of 2 part a day is only going to grow to more. Any thoughts from those that have one as to which would be best for a 158 gal system. Looking for least touchy and or problematic.
Looking good. I remember your old tank from the group buy! I had a 55 that I painted a very reflective silver to all light. I think (IMHO) it was a little better than the white I have in my current tank. Following along as I like the tank shape, and it refreshing to see with all the grey outside.
I have in order the following; a t5 and 2 it2040 and 2 t5 and 2 it2040 and t5. The t5 are 24 inch 25 watts. If i really wanted a punch I would have redesigned my canopy and run 3 t5 at 48 inches long. Overall it adds this background lighting that does get rid of shadows and I can see the shrooms...
So it does make a difference by adding a layer of background lighting. I've noticed shrooms on the floor and off to the side bigger today with the lights running.
