I get that from time to time. I just thought it meant you had to be a premium member to do whatever it is i was trying to do. FWIW, I have under 50 posts on RC and i can still PM.
If putting a piece of plywood down gives you piece of mind then go for it. I did. I used 3/4. Like I said, if all it's doing is giving you piece of mind then it's worth doing.
If you're going to spray paint your tank do yourself a favor and buy a plastic dropcloth. Cut the dropcloth into 4 pieces and tape off the pieces on the tank edges to prevent overspray. Paint will ONLY be where you want it to be.
BTW: I have heard that painting backglass effects your PAR.
As usual, thanks to all for the great feedback. Set up a QT tank today. What a disaster, it took 2 hours to net all the fish. Ended up taking apart my rockwork in the process to eliminate hiding spots and knocked just about all of my coral over. The plus side is that I like my new rockwork...
So a 10 gallon tank, heater, and HOB filter is it? Great, going to set it up tomorrow. I've done a little reading on it and i gather hyposalinity 1.016 or so and copper based meds would be a good start to my problem. how long should i leave the affected fish in the QT tank? Since I have 3 out of...
Well, 3 out of 4 fish have ich. Treated for a week with Kick Ich and all the white spots disappeared...until this morning. I've spent hours researching and i thought i'd reach out here and see what people have done to cure their ich. I do not have a QT tank so I can't isolate anything. Looking...
FWIW: My Bellus Angel isn't territorial or aggressive at all. She spends the day just swimming the tank and loves to play around in the rockwork. I've yet to see it harrass any tankmates. i've only had it for a few weeks though.
Your car will still start if the alternator is defective. The alternator charges the battery but has no bearing on starting the car. If you have a voltmeter it's quite easy to determine if it's bad battery or defective alternator. Easiest thing to do would be to swap batteries with a known good...
In short, my auto top off sensor must have gotten stuck somehow and dumped my bucked of makeup water into the tank. By the time I noticed it and drained it down to level, my SG is now 1.023. What would be the most advisable way to bring my gravity back to normal?
Just called the store about the green brittle star and what they told me went something like this. "They've never had a problem with them. They keep to themselves. I'd be more worried about the fish picking on the seastar. Of course if a fish was sitting right by the seastar he might try to eat...
Sighhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Yes it appears to be a green brittle sea star, and no they didn't tell me the spines on the foxface were venomous (not that it necessarily would have deterred me...but that's definately good information to know). Hmmm, either I shouldn't have gone in 20 minutes...
Thanks for the advice Brian. I will definately keep that in mind in the future. It makes perfect business sense that they would try to do that. As of now the foxface appears to be doing well. I catch him swimming around but when you approach that tank he goes and hides. His color is back to...
Hi everyone. The tank just finished cycling this morning after 3 weeks of anxious waiting. I used 2 different test kits and got the same results. 0 ammonia, 0 nitrites, and i'd say 10 ppm nitrates. Water temp 78-79. Salinity is a tad high at the moment at 1.0265 (I rushed making up water change...
