Well i hit a bump in the road... I don't know what i should do... I picked up a 10g last night for the sump and it won't fit though the door of the tank... So the only way I'd be able to get it in/out is pulling the tank/stand out and getting it out from the back of the stand... I thought about...
Went and got the plumbing supplies. Should have that done by the weekend. Then i just need to get the glass for the baffles cut then I'll start moving stuff over?
First thing I'd do is add more live rock (how many lb are in there?) you'll want like 1.5-2lb per gallon so around 65lb give or take a little. Next you'll want some more flow. Most corals will like the flow. Depending on what type of corals you want to keep I'd say at less 20x turn over of flow...
Alright I like Brians idea and if i make the glass dividing the fuge a little taller then the only flow through the refuge will be the phosban reactor outlet.
I though of that so it'd be go like intake/skimmer>three baffles>return.
The only thing i'm worried about is the refuge making a water fall into the return area. Since the refuge area is all 8" and the return isn't but maybe with your design it would only be an inch drop which won't make much...
Cool to see something lived that long Althought i feel bad for the clam... I scanned through it so i must of missed it but i didn't see anything about the size of the clam it must of been huge!
Cool so i can always add another one later.
Yeah you've got a point there!
Well i was thinking of something like Melve's DIY top off and have it on a timer.
Thanks,
I was looking at the TLF 150 is that to big? i didn't see any smaller ones...
pgordemer,
That's a cool idea. I don't know why but i like watching stuff work and those are all covered up but if i'm short on room i'll look into one.
Do all auto top off's have the same chance of failing? I...
Thank you guys,
So i guess I'll look into a phosban reactor. What's a good brand? I would like to get a Ca reactor but those are pricey little things... maybe i can find some DIY plans... As far as the auto top off i was looking into one down the road but now that i'm hearing how nice they are...
I've got about 30lb total in the sump and display. So you think my best bet would be to get new live rock and then cook my old stuff to kill everything or what else can i do with it?
Hey guys,
I'm just courius about some other equipment i was looking at stuff like Ca reactor and phosban reactor. What else is there? Also what does the phosban reactor really do? I read some stuff but got confused...
Thanks guys,
-Nick
So maybe put it in first then top it off with my crushed coral?
I've been dealing with them since Dec or Jan... I've tried it all i gave up over the summer because there was nothing i could do that worked longer then a few weeks...
