you'll be fine I had a 75 gallon on a second floor, granted it was freshwater but still heavier than a 54 gallon for sure. Being the the apt is newer you could probably even go as high as 75-80 without thinking twice.
I got the up to 75g Aqua C remora used off of RC.com. Its only been running a day and on the directions it says to let the thing go for a week or 2 before it really starts working well. Is that due to it being run in a brand new tank or do they mean for a new unit that has never been run before...
yea i only have the hanging pendant over my 29 so there is no fixture which includes HO T5's. I have one of those coralife slimline normal output T5 fixtures which put out exactly 38 watts. would that be beneficial to add to the setup? I am just worried that it will shade some of the metal...
Yes, I know that it covers 24" i figured that I would keep the low light corals on the side bottom. I think Blastos require less light if I have read correctly. Right now those are on the sides.
Hey, I have a 29g with a 150 watt MH pendant, do you think this is enough for mostly all soft corals and LPS? How about SPS? The tank is 30 X 12 X 18. Thanks..
Chris
For you Nano guys out there... how many 5 gallon pour jugs do you own? I just picked up my third and fouth yesterday from Trop. I figure its good to have 10 gallons of fresh rodi for top offs and another 10 for water changes. I looked at Home Depot and Lowes and they didnt have any water storage...
im getting a remora next week and im a newbie. Do protein skimmers also create some current in your aquarium? I have a 29g Nano and the pump is a MJ 1200.
For those of you who test or have had great experiences with RODI salt and fresh from various stores in the area, which one do you prefer for the best water? Are there any to avoid? I have gotten mine from Tropaquarium and Fish Tails in Brick. Lets hear it!

I have a 29g nano and I was thinking of eventually adding an ATO and also a sump to have more water volume and make some equipment more discreet. I know that its best to have the tank drilled with an overflow box but is there another way to easily add a sump to an already up and running system...
thanks guys.. yea i aquired the tank from a friend who didnt want it anymore because he had algae that he couldnt keep under control. So what I did was I ditched his old 15 gallon tank and replaced it with a 20 long so it would fit on my nice black stand. I added some live sand and the fish and...
Im quarantining some live rock in a bin with a powerhead and a heater to wait for the algae to die. I have been reading about how much of a nuisance worms can be. Is there any way to treat the rock with something to kill the worms while I am waiting? Its going to be a few more weeks until the...
Is there a product that you can buy to keep your corals strong with nutrients? Like something that you can put in with weekly water changes that adds all the essential nutrients they need? I have mostly LPS and soft. Is there one of those products that come in bottles that takes care of...
How long can a soft coral like a polyp be out of the water if you are cleaning algae off it? I had one out and it had something that looked like a worm on it but it turned out to be a purple polyp! It was only out of the wate for 3-5 min and still wet.
