Going into an established tank with live stock so must be cured, looking for around 50lbs or so. If you don't have any, but you know of a good store to get it from please let me know. I know trop has it but I was trying to avoid paying $8/lb
Looking for any tips possible I'm hoping to swap tanks this Friday as I've encountered a problem with my current tank. I have live stock in the tank, no corals just fish. I'm looking to add more rock so I might leave all my rock in Rubbermaid tubs until I can get more.
So I went in to Captivating Corals today & walked out with a beautiful foxface, I acclimated him via drip & he's been in my tank for about an hour now & he's got black spots off and on and seems to be stressed for some reason, I had a salt spoke and I'm at about a .027/.028 and I'm currently...
I know suggested tank size is no smaller than a 70g but I read alot of people saying they put them in their 55 so obviously having a 55 my interest has spiked. But I'm not going to raise a fish in a tank that is to small for them & will only harm them & that's selfish, so I'm asking your...
My tank is already up & running so it must be cured as I cannot take a spike in phos levels or anything of that nature. I'm looking for some nice pieces to add to my existing rock. Please provide pictures if you've got them
I'm looking to add about 20lbs to my tank which is up & running with 2 clowns and some live rock. I know when add the sand it get extremely murky and a foamy substance on the top of the water. Is this harmful to my fish? How should I go about putting it in? Also, I do have snails I'm assuming...
as the title stays i'm currently at war with LHA its mainly on my LR and a little on the sides and substrate of the tank. since this is a major eye so i'm taking out all of live rock and spraying it down with the hose on my sink real quick my question is this..
1. what is the actual procedure...
So I am currently watching my tank be consumed with LHA so I decided to start researching methods to get rid of it (cleaner pack in route) and I stumbled upon a so called "vodka method" I have researched further & found out what it is specifically my question is have any of you used it...
My auto power strip won't program for some reason, if anyone has successfully programmed one or has one yourself id appreciate the help it looks like this
In a few hours I'll begin building my sump, I just have a few last minute questions before I start.
1. Optimal sump depth is 5.5" so I'm gonna go with 6, should both baffles be the same height or different?
2. The center baffle I was gonna put 1" higher than the rest, good or higher
Anyone know of any sites/stores running any specials for the holiday?
Also, I have a 55g this is the package I intend to buy..
2 peppermint shrimp
1 blood shrimp
20 cerith snails
20 astraea snails
(maybe) sea star/urchin
So i'm picking up a 20g long tomorrow, the dimensions are 30"L x 13"W x 12"H. i want plan to go skimmer, fuge, return the skimmer will be 9" the fuge will be 12" and the return will be 7" with 3 baffles 12" high the middle one higher obviously (one inch apart) i will draw up a picture shortly so...
Would it be worth while to get a 30g tall for a sump? The dimensions are 30x12.5x22.75. I was looking for a long to have more room in each section but I guess it's the same as far as water volume. It's a good deal I'm just curious if a long would be better
Finally have the money to buy a protein skimmer, I have a 55g tank I'm looking at purchasing the Reef Octopus nwb 150. Just wanted to know if you guys have had any experience with reef octopus products and whether or not this would be a worth the money. I am also open to any other...
Does anyone use this? I currently use an RO/DI but I'm planning on doing a 50% water change tomorrow or Tuesday because I have high phos levels so premixed saltwater would be much easier for such a large change. I'm just curious if the phos levels are low, I have prime so I'm not all that...
I live in Jackson, Nj I'm looking for a new saltwater store with a wider selection of fish and inverts. I currently go to tropiquarium but I feel like they don't have a huge variety and their prices are fairly high in comparison to online. That being said I haven't really been to any other real...
