Dave,
Were you actually reading the debate? I added this post to prove a point; anemones do catch and eat fish. I would hope people actually read about the livestock they keep and not getting educated by the simplest of definitions.
Yes I was reading the debate. My point was that a generic...
I am curious how may people swap out the reflectors on their lights as a means to get more out of their lights?
I imagine the value in doing this, depends on what light you currently have, and how good/bad the current reflector is.
I had always heard anenome's should have MH, but after looking around some more it seems that many people are able to be successful with less.
So dis-regard the previous post of mine.
No offense to National Geographic, but that definition is on par with the one in the Webster's dictionary for children.
It's good enough for your neighbor's kid, who has snot running down his nose, is smearing his greasy fingers on your tank, and is screaming "What's Dat" at your sea anenome...
If Mator is hosting the nem....he is getting fed...along with the floating food...and the zooanthellae. How much food do you think these things need. The reason I was suggesting to do nothing, was because Mator is part of the feeding equation.
Even if Mator was not there, everything I have...
Rod Buehle (Rod's Food) is active on one of the boards. IMO he has some of the most beautiful and extensive collection of anenome's.
He has always been helpful in answering mine and others questions, and you can receive a lot of information just by reviewing his previous posts...
Yes that is ok. And like others have mentioned, this is very normal behaviour. That said, for some reason it always makes me nervous when mine does the same thing, and it has done it probably 30 times in the last 6 months.
IMHO, doing nothing is the best thing you can do.
Hi Rich welcome to the site. How you compress photos will be specific to the photo editing software you use. Sometimes this is as easy as opening your picture and saving it in a different format.
For example, bmp files are not compressed and jpg are. So if your picture is in bmp format...
It seems I gave the wrong impression. Easily 9 of the 12 LFS I visited had there tanks in good shape including AO and Hidden Reef. I have yet to go to Trop.
I was really just remarking/ranting how any LFS can have so little care of their tanks and then expect customers to be ok with that. Which...
I have been to probably 12 different LFS over the past 6 months and it always makes me nervous to buy from them when they do not seem to make any efforts to maintain their tanks.
I went to one high priced LFS and they had bubble algae all over their corals. It was so bad, while I was looking at...
Just to close this one off. Thanks again for everyones help. I made the trip up to AO and came away with a nice Metallic Blue Maxima and an orange ricordea.
If anyone had been looking at me, I am sure it appeared like I had mental health issues when I glanced over at the couch and started...
Basically, I am trying to establish what are the features of the controllers and are they worth it.
After googling this multiple times and reading several threads, I cannot find the plain english on all that they can do.
So far I have determined they usually can:
1. Control Lights
2. Control...
Agreed. I am asking because I have two internal overflow boxes, and the tank is not drilled. I am curious what others that may have a similar set up are doing.
For example, is anyone keeping all of their filtration contained within the tank/overflows. i.e. no export of water?
If so, what...
