How long ago did you disturb your sand bed? When you transported the tank, did you keep the sand wet? I honestly think it's the RODI source. I don't trust LFS RODI unless they show me the source. Then again I'm very uptight about my water - I have an 8 stage RODI which is overkill but helps me...

How much for sps colonies?

How old is the rock? Where did you get it from? How did you treat the rock before you put it in? Same applies for the sand. When's the last time you changed out your RODI? What is the psi on your RODI? When's the last time you flushed out your RODI? What's the TDS reading in and out on the RODI...

I disagree. Always clean dry sand. Your rocks will absorb the phosphates from the sediment in dirty new sand, which will lead to algae issues. Why struggle to fight when you can prevent? I wasted a solid $250-350 on phosphate remover during my fight.

I guess it's just me. I like complete chaos when it comes to flow.

I had 4 mp 10s on my DB 80 and recently upgraded to 2 40's and 2 10's. More random flow. Also, the tens could barely push across the 4' tank on 80%. Patterns were insane, but just didn't like the lateral flow.
