Since your only dosing once you are raising your alk and then over a period it drops back down. Try testing it like 30 minutes or so after you dose.

10ml is like nothing. Would.keep the same 40 ml per day and adjust up or down.

Unless you plan on breeding dottybacks always just keep 1. Personally they are a super aggressive fish and equally as destructive as a damsel. Basslets are definitly more docile but you need a lot caves and caverns. Probably not a good idea either unless.you have a very super large tank.
