Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Concept3.875 on the three shots you took with different lens, how much magnification were you using for each shot? Or I guess another way of asking, were each shot at the widest lens setting?
Thanks for all the great info so far.
I just got off the phone with a guy at a local camera shop (getting the itch) and he also suggested maybe looking at the Tamron AF18-250mm F/3.5-6.3 XR Di II LD Aspherical (IF) instead of the Nikon 18-200mm.
That of course would give a little more...
I got the urge at the meeting this past weekend to pick up a decent digital camera. Using the 2mega pixal camera on my cell phone just doesn't cut it. :)
I have a few film based cameras and usually use either a 35mm or 50mm. I'd really like to take some shots of my tank and also have a good all...
What requirements are there pool wise Phil? Any particular depth needed?
I'd assume most YMCA pools would be ok to use correct?
Anyone have a YMCA membership in the area?

I'd be interested in doing this if classes were in SJ. I could attend anything in the Trenton to Vineland area.
We could schedule a group trip to Florida or the Carib for the open dive. :)

I personally think people go to big on the watts with Halides. I run 30" tanks and have never used more then 175 watt HQIs on them. I've got close to a dozen ultra maxima clams sitting on the bottom of the tank and they are doing GREAT.
The difference in light output is not much between a 175...
I'd have to say the arm because it's always salty from moving corals around. However I'm not sure which option it would be except for maybe under the arm but it's not really under the arm since it is the arm. :)
If anyone is interested in getting together before the 1pm meeting at Billy's house let me know. I live in Deptford near the mall which is right off Rt 55 and Rt 42. I'm easily less then 5 minutes away from Rt 55, 42 and 295. I'm 10 minutes or so from Cherry Hill so if you are coming north for...
I'm buying everything else you have so what the heck...
Add these to my "order". :)
BTW, any chance you can pack all my stuff seperately?
Thanks,
Carlo
I just don't get why manufactures don't put a door on the side(s) of stands. On my next tank if I use a commercial stand I'm modding it before I even use it to put a full door on the side for just such occasions.
I've hit this problem to many times now. Sometimes just trying to put a piece of...
Anyone know of any LFS in the south/central jersey area that has these in stock?
Has anyone tried these on a wave making controller? I've heard but not read that probably only the SEO will work with it.

A wet/dry is a type of sump. If you take out the bio balls and sponges you have a regular sump at that point. However it really depends on the design of the wet/dry as to how usefull it will perform for you to store equipment and such. Sometimes it's just easier to remove the wetdry and start...
Isn't it GREAT how many "brother" reefers will jump in to help someone they really don't even know. It's little things like this that make the hobby even more enjoyable!
