So, FloridaPets reshipped the pods this week to replace the ones that froze in transit.
They packed the small bag with a massive heat pack.
Bag came out of shipping box at 100+ degrees.
I've gone from frozen and dead to boiled and dead.
Waiting on their response.
Standard type. Purple with yellow head.
No worries, no coral nibbling, had him about 1 1/2 - 2 years.

If you dont have one, get one.
Ran a check on my Cobalt. It had failed to max setting at some point over the past year. Controller had been keeping the tank at a steady 79.
Thanks. Was interesting and fun putting it together as was so out of the ordinary, as I’m sure you know. Here’s the other side…
Your’s looks fantastic as well. Love this creative sculpture thing as opposed to previously just stacking rocks.
Get a thin liquid cyanoacrylic superglue from Amazon (stuff is like water).
Break up some rock into fine/superfine sand/dust with a hammer.
Place scaping rocks where you want em, find a gap, fill with a bit of the fine/dust rock.
Squeeze a bit of the liquid superglue on it.
It’ll steam, stink...
Looks good. Have similar but I added small flat ‘platforms’ throughout mine. That way I can mount SPS easily in their own little areas, and if I ever have to pull them in a few cases I can just break off the platform. Might be a consideration.
Turned my whites up and blues down for a pic…
Well, talked to Floridapets. It's an isopod.
Never saw one this big (but, then again the amphipods were quite large).
I put it in the tank by picking it up between my thumb and fore finger while it was wriggling.
Also, Floridapets is very communicative and friendly, and are shipping out a new...
I've had a coral banded with a fire with no concerns.
Odd that you keep losing them. I've had one in a 30g for about 2 years at this point.
They're pretty straightforward, just give them the required peanut butter sandwich once a week and they last ages.
Ordered a small order of pods through e-bay from 'floridapets'.
Packed well (paper over the plastic, thermal bag, styrofoam lining, outer box).
With the cold, delayed delivery, and, unfortunately, no heat pack in the packaging, things didn't fare well.
Floated the pack for 2 hours and I did see...
Heya H, hope alls well, think I still have pics on my phone from your last party.
Club has been through some ups and downs, as always, and there’s still a few of the old crew floating and lurking (Mike mnat, Paul RFBF, Bob radiata, Mark V, and a few more).
Hope retirement is treating you well...
