I'm going to test tomorrow morning. If it has a reading, I'll cut it in half and swap out the carbon for phosguard. Then eventually get rid of the BP altogether.
Well I shut off my BP reactor so I guess I'll see if there's a change tomorrow morning. Getting my water change ready for tomorrow so I can siphon out as much as possible.
Now I'm lost. Just tested my po4 3x with the Hanna checker and all 3x it came up 0.00ppm when 3 days ago it was at 0.16ppmish
I did do a water change and siphon out a lot and added some more Biopellets 2 days ago. Do you think that the additional pellets and water change helped reduce it that...
I just got in from work, stopped and picked up phosguard. How does everyone recommend I run this? Filter media bag or reactor?
My cyano is taking over. Real bad. I may have to go lights out again while doing another water change/siphoning.
Sorry, old sand as in 2 month old sand, it was the sand that was in my 135g but then that started leaking so I got a 150 instead so I just swapped everything over
No the tank is brand new but it has all of the old sand, rocks and most of the water. Barely had a mini-cycle. This tank has been up for almost 4 months
Yep, all live sand, caribsea Bahamas oolite if I remember correctly. The rock was from 2 separate places. Half of it was from my 90g tank. The rest was ordered from Marco Rock as dry rock which I let soak in RO water for a couple weeks prior to adding into the tank
Well I think the source of po4 is coming from my pellets. If that makes sense. I stopped feeding heavily, I'm religious with my water changes. I even reduced my light schedule to just 7hrs a day.
