Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Got mine out yesterday. Picked up a few new ones from Amazon, reviews saying these things are tops, hopefully so.

So, I knew the new G6 lights are weaker on PAR than previous models (but far superior on spread and spectrum).
Had mine set at 50% and I knew it was way low.
Assuming the Photone readings are correct, I was at about 100-120 at mid tank (SPS level).
Cranked them up to 85% for a reading of 250-280...
Joined their 'vital care' for fish. $10 a month billed annual.
If you're near the Brick Petco, its a no brainer.
Gets you a $5 credit every month and 20% off ANYTHING fish related - food, floss, nets, hardware, tanks, etc.
Best part is the discount stacks with sales, so this weekend was...
Doing some research on this. Seems the only calibration you need for the Photone app is to determine the loss of par through the plastic you have the phone in. If you don't want to do that you can assume the plastic will drop the par by 10-20.
Watched a few vids and I'm convinced that it won't...
Thanks for hosting! We've neglected the meetings for too long.
I should be able to make it.
(and I'll announce a date for June at my place closer to the time)
The last order I had with them (previous to this one) had a 100% doa. Got a refund for it but was still disappointing.
Decided to try again with this order and had a 50% survival. Didn't even bother to take pics, just dumped the shells in the tank for the hermits to use.
Got it. So they monitored this site, saw the sale and contact info, and approached you as the salesperson.
Confirming they are not related to the site.
May be a situation where we need a rule modification, like no visible contact info in the forums (I'm a major violator of that).
For the first time in, err, maybe 2 years or so, I'm actually going to check my tanks.
I plan on checking Alk, Ca, Mg, and even salinity.
I expect, as I'm going to do this, I will have a hard crash of both tanks immediately after.
Bulbs are (I think) Blue+, Blue+, Blue+ (possibly actinic), Coral+, all 6 months old.
No legs.
Moonlight LEDs.
May have a few extra bulbs around.
In Brick 08724.
Would go to the garage to take a pic, but i'm too lazy right now - picture a 36" 4 bulb T5 - there ya go, that's what it looks like...
Get a frigging pistol shrimp. They'll move the entirety of your sand from one end of the tank to the other daily, burying anything they can mange to cover in the process.
I just bought one after suppressing the memories of my previous one from many years back.
As a bonus, the 'I'm angry' gunshot...
Odd thing is Greenpeace made a statement saying that there is no scientific proof that there is a connection between the sonar mapping and the beachings.
Effectively the medical view that correlation does not necessarily equal causation.
But, there seems to be some empirical evidence at least.
