As long as you have water movement in the tank. And not a lot of bioload(don’t know your fish stock). You should be okay for a few days without the skimmer (sump)

The heater of choice seems to be eheim jager. It turns off automatically when exposed to air (runs dry) Assuming the sump was left dry. Clean the sump and remove most of the organic in there before adding water. Die off will create a cycle.

Definitely should have a bubbler or pump to keep water moving

I thinking keep it it that high, you are not leaving yourself too much room for error. Any swing will put you in the danger zone for corals. I would lower to 78-79. That should help with evaporation

I love both those fish. But Old adage. That has saved me. Every time I contemplated this. I have the blue in frag tank and the Achilles in the display. So I'm speaking from experience here. Would you risk a 330 fish for a 60 dollar fish ?

I used that spray that expands around the hole to prevent entry. As for the pipe opening. I have a mosquito mesh I tied around the opening and the intake goes through a canister filter with carbon. Anything that makes it through that quantlet should drown in skimmer. So either way. Don't...
