My sump is dirty as well, I never had problem causing a detritus storm. Every once a while I siphon the sump. It's a little bit elevated just enough to get most of the gunks out.

I dump the 5g bucket of new water into the sump. Minimum lifting.

A little burn out on SPS so I am breaking down the tank over time. Setting up a mangrove softie tank instead. I am in Aberdeen 07747 but can bring corals to Livingston and surrounding areas. Many corals are encrusted on rocks and since my rock is cemented together as one piece, hard to remove...

Had one of these orange spotted filefish. Haven't seem them avail in the hobby for a while.

@diana a the Marlboro store is being remodeled. They selling off all the marine life. I was told the remodeling will complete in July. They have decent selection usually.
