If you are moving livestock, you have nothing to worry about- even if you plan on moving rock to the new tank- just leave the sand behind- this tank will be fine by the time you have the new tank cycled
Diatoms are the least of whatever problems you can have with that tank- looks like you have coralline on the back glass- the diatoms will go away- or you can blast them with a baster or siphon them out with a water change- if you have clear water and your parameters are good leave it alone-...
Trying to get thing moving forward for my 75 gal. @Salted and @mwil79 both said they have done sumps without drilling their tanks- I can't find any info online how to do it and what equipment I need. Looking for help on this - otherwise I'm back to doing the in tank sumps
Although I've had populations of copepods in my DT and sump, they have never seemed to last long. From what I've read they need lower salinization and temps than the normal reef tank- Apex seems to be the exception. I've always had some amphipods that came in as hitchhikers on live rock. I don't...
Both are ugly- dino's are worse to look at- they're different kinds- I had a case of the stringies- very ugly- but both do go away - better than briopsis or even hair algae in the long run
The largest fish I have is a coris wrasse, others include chromis, small damsels and gobies- I feed them flakes and mysis daily. Wondering what I should add- frozen brine shrimp, fish eggs, blood worms?
I'm going to place an order with reefcleaners over the weekend and will use UPS so I get it quickly- if anyone in my area wants to add ( Chester/ Morris- or willing to meet somewhere convenient for both of us) let me know @brokereefer , @Salted , @Juano908 , @horseplay - even you @ericrodriguez...
Think I finally have it figured out- turned off the heater, replaced the lights and one power head- all that was left was the other wave and the return pump from the sump- unplugged the wave and tested- still got random ac- ordered a new pump-be here Tuesday- fish and the few corals seem fine...
Putting together an order, some questions- Fire/blood shrimp- are they only active at night? Do Harlequin shrimp only eat starfish- Is a pencil urchin ok for a 40g, small conches are ok I would think- limpets are good I also would think- has anyone bought Tongan nassarrius- are they any better...
What did you order from them- a package? any extras? I'm thinking about placing an order but have heard it hit or miss with them- are you happy with your order
