I have collected sea lettuce in sandy hook bay. My tangs love that stuff. Have not done it too much there is enough algae in the tank for the one tang I have. But you can collect a big bucket and freeze it you will be all set for a very long time.
Some anthias are easier than the others. But all require at least frozen one or twice a day.
Leopard wrasse are a good choice if you plan to have a sand bed. Make sure you get one already eating in the store. They are smaller than coris and more suitable for a 75g.
Kole tang is ok. I have a mimic tang that is doing well in my 3D’ 70g. I know it’s doing well because it does not pace back and forth. When it gets bigger I will need to rehome it. In my experience zebrasomas don’t do well in smaller tanks they’re aggressive in a small tank. Even then a smaller...
Tang is a must. Do a center piece you like then add a few compatible ones. Some fish can be bullies try to avoid them. A lot of wrasses will happily kill another wrasse so be careful there.
2 weeks away have to monitor the tank remotely. Tank has gone thru some hair algae problem, treated with flux rx. Corals have bounced back. Check out how productive the skimmer is. I probably need to shut it down remotely before it overflows. Very consistent production.
Interesting idea about the shed in the garage. It would work well in the winter. It won't work in the summer though unless you want to air condition it. Do you still use the garage for cars? If not I will just make the whole space into a fish room :)
