In redaing on the T5s I was under the impression that a 30" should cover a 36" with 3" of low light drop on the edges.
With a mixed reef I thought that might be ideal for lower light level corals.
So, the IM 30g reef is on its way, and I need a lighting solution.
Mixed reef, ony 18-20" deep, 36" length.
I want to keep this tank clean and streamlined so I wont be hanging fixtures with dangling wired and I'd like to avoid multiple mounts.
I'm thinking along the lines of a single over tank...
In a 45g regular water changes should do fine.
THe problem in the nanos is that whatever you convert to the fuge chamber does not have a lot of surface area, it's much deeper than wider, so light has a harder time penetrating.
Also, fuges require enough water and flow (and space) that cheato...
Starting to sell off some stuff pre-new build.

Hey all.
I just broke down a 40b covered with 1/8" thick pink coraline.
I managed to scrape the coraline off with a razor and get it into some jars.
If I keep them pretty heavily concentrated I should have about 4 of them.
So, if you're looking to pink up your system, first 4 responders can...
So, going back to my beloved nanos.
There’s an IM 30 shallow reef pro AIO on way for the den, and a 30 cube setting up in the kitchen atm.
IIn market for a nano AIO 20-30g to complete the trilogy if anyone has anything available.
The 120 will be listed soon as a complete or parted out system...
Got a 120 with stand, sump (5 chamber with algae reactor), plumbing, custom cover, DC return pump.
Can also sell as system adding in Coral Vue skimmer, 3 Hydra 26hd/AI T5 hybrid, 2 SeaSwirls with pump, 2 MP40s, Kalk reactor.
Not listed on site yet, but will be soon. Looking to move it quick as...
I've one of these I never used...

If my wife hasn't adapted it to something 'cutsey' you can have it if you want it.
Move the Xenia as well. They're potentially more invasive and much harder to remove than GSP.
This is 3 average small frags of Xenia in a 40b after 2 years (it was done intentionally)...
Friendly FYI regarding ramping the lights - it doesn't matter to the coral or fish in the least, its more...
Its a fuzzy dream atm and it involves multiple tanks and going back to the nanos, which I should never have moved away from.
ATM it involves an 30-40g cube system in the kitchen, an 30g shallow reef for the den, and a 20g cube for the living room.
Systems matching, may go IM or RS (but the RS...
I have a small Pelican cooler 20.
Needed a new handle, they sent me the wrong ones.
If anyone has a Pelican with 2 handles, one on each side, I have a brand new set if you'd like em.
Re-modelling, re-flooring.
Starting to break down multiple tanks.
Selling cheap and going to use $ to fund dream system.
Come by with some buckets and I'll help break down.
If they don't sell as systems, I'll break em down, clean em up, and sell as tanks and components.
TANK 1
SMALL FRAGGER /...
Ride it out, do a 10% water change a week (this is close to gospel). Don't worry about chasing parameters or GFO, or carbon (which decreases O2 levels), or chemicals like Chemipure or whatever. Just keep it simple, this is a normal phase, it looks like hell, it will clear up. And it will happen...
3 months is a puppy. Personally I probably wouldn't have more than 1 fish in it at this point while riding out the algae blooms, but thats me.
Over the next 7-8 months you're going to have brown stuff on the sand, red stuff on the sand and rocks, hair algae, bubble algae, maybe some aptasia, and...
