That hammer fully inflated is a little bigger then a BB. The frogspawn is only slightly smaller. I really gotta figure out how to cut them back. Im afraid to though. They are both perfectly shaped but something has to be done.

For placing underwater I usually take a small ball of epoxy putty place a spot of superglue gel then put the coral on it. Then I place another spot of glue on the bottom and place where I want.
For glue I have been using IC gel. I have found nothing better. All the other seem to thicken up too...
In theory you want to cycle with rock and sand in place. You could start without it and add during it. You could even add it later, but you may or may not experience another cycle. I've removed and replaced a sandbed in my old nano and had no issues. I heard of others having nothing but problems...
I'll throw my train of thought in. When I cycled my tank I ran my skimmer but I let it drain right back I to the tank. I have a in sump skimmer though my thought process was that I could let the skimmer have a break in period without interrupting the cycle.
If it wasn't mushrooms I wouldn't bother I would just put into a container in the dark and let it burn itself out. Frankly there is no way to physically remove mushrooms to this extent. They will just come back. I've had enough burned spots on my montis and they are far more important. The rock...
