i say a cruddy film certainly couldn't help your tank. i would def try to find a solution, a koralia 2 couldn't possibly create too much heat, is the return pump flow restricted? what pump is in there now? ???
thanks for the offer duljver. but unfortunately even my photog skills aren't that great, but i have a reg. digital camera, and i'll try to tool around tomorrow and get something decent.
how bout acclimating fw guppies to brackish and breeding them, i think calaxa tried it with full salt acclimation and it didn't work as well as i think they would in brackish. or even mollies would breed prolifically enough in a brackish tank for the fry to provide supplemental food.
paul, we had some argumentative nay sayers on her for a bit, new guys that liked to read stuff online and quote it as gospel as how things can and can't be done, so i thing it was bill that posted some snipets of ur post as proof of to the contrary.
i am very glad to see that the bumblebee gobies can bee acclimated to salt water. they were a fav of mine in my freshie days, and i've considered trying to acclimate them the other way. i'll give it a go next time i see them in the lfs
ok, i'll bite. for those who don't know, an under gravel filter is a connected system of "perforated tubes" that lie under the substrate, water is pumped through via a pump, (usually a power head) in passing through moves oxygenated water through the substrate. i think it could work with crushed...
i've had sand for the last 4 years, but am currently setting up my 125 b.b. i can't wait for the ease of cleaning, it doesn't look at natural, but i painted the bottom side of the bottom glass black so hopefully it won't stand out too much.
well after about 5 months of planning (procrastinating) i finally am filling the new (to me atleast) 125g finished the plumbing for the sump last night. so hopefully by tonight the live rock and critters will be going in.... i feel very relieved if only to get rid of the 40 breeder and the 75g...
phyl once gave me a great tip of placing layers of window screens over the tank, and removing a layer every few days. hope it helps. but to be honest 96 watts is not that much brighter, so it may not be neccessary, or one layer of screen should be sufficient
ha ha it worked, you looked now an answer to a question please.... what type of fan do people build into their homemade standsto vent the sump moisture out. and where do i get one? would rather buy in a local store, or if anyone has a spare local to middletown please chime in. thanks.
