Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
no, if you top off with salt water your salinity would go through the roof. water evaporates, salt does not.... you would have a major fish and coral revolt....
and thus the disclaimers "in MY experience" and "in my OPINION" that's why we come here, google is for research. here is to discuss it with people we know, that have been through it before. but i'm done on this topic.... i feel like i'm coming down with a cold, i'm going to eat some garlic...
sorry if i came across as critical myself, i just don't think it in the best interest of the board as a whole to stifle someone else's creative thoughts, i really meant no offense. with that said, when are you gonna be free so i can stop by and check out that recirc mod on your euro-reef skimmer? ;D
hey calaxa, i understand that you have a scientific background, and you come across as a very intelligent and helpfull guy. but i thought the idea of the board is to exchange thoughts and beliefs.... he asked, and we're giving our opinions. you come across as very critical at times. dude, we're...

hmmm, wonder why you lost corals.... kinda no different than buying corals elsewhere and putiing them into your tank (which would be a more drastic change than this would create)
i have a spotted that eats frozen.... and does anyone know what the deal is with the "blue" mandarin i've seen advertised on some lfs sponsors website? is it just a color varient of the green/psych. mandarin?
i would go with screen rather than egg crate... when you'll notice that the wall behind the tank and the ceiling over the tank light up alot.... that is all light being reflected away from your tank and not into your tank... i bought egg crate and stopped using it after i noticed this.
