Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
We had small tanks for a long time so we dealt with a lot of small fish (we still do).
Dwarf angel: Will always be hit or miss with nipping at corals. Look at flame or fireball, or even a pygmy as they stay very small
Wrasses: Possum wrasses would be fine here or a flasher like the...
Cardinals get big and can be nasty when they are older, but that usually takes a few years. If you get a few of the smaller tank raised ones, you should be fine for a couple of years. I also love the way they look when they are younger, but they aren't as nice in full adulthood. Sorry, missed...
Welcome back Jon. Glad to see a few years later the itch returns. Stocking list looks good, though you will probably have to donate the cardinals away after a few years. The sexy shrimp are a good call with the maxi nems, ours host together and are pretty cool. Maybe a pistol for the yasha goby?
That is a tough call. I don't think the leds in the JBJ hoods are really all that amazing. I think you can do well with them, but I would not really choose those if given a choice. We had the 12g jbj with stock LEDs and were underwhelmed. T5s are tried and true and would work. If you were...
Funny little story from last night. I have an ato for this tank but have just not set it up, just a combination of laziness, procrastination and busy end of the year stuff. I basically top the tank off by hand with 2.5g jugs. I woke up this morning at about 5 am to use the mens room and was...
Your old tank was gorgeous so I really hope you can repeat that.
Are you staying with the stock hood over the JBJ or are you taking it off? Obviously if you take it off it would give you a lot more choices that just the compacts or leds. For example we are running a kessil over our 30g cube...
I always like to keep clowns in pairs, they are just more interesting that way. However, that does not mean you cannot get another wrasse. You can look at the possum wrasses which are very peaceful and stay relatively small. You could also look at a flasher wrasse (mckoskers or carpenter for...
That fish came from LiveAquaria in 2011, it was part of a pair and only that one survived. Obviously we have had her for a while now. So far has been coral safe which is completely random.
