Pretty sure this is a solution to the problem, and not water level. Unless the water is completely filling the entire tank, but that wouldn't make sense since they mentioned that it was flowing over that wall. Could be the pump is too strong, but that would make the water level fluctuate...

I agree, but maybe a small 1" Kole tang will be alright until they upgrade within a year.

Did you seed on top of it to get cycled?
