    New tank! (40 breeder)

My water stunk for a bit, then I ran some carbon, took care of it. Gave one hell of an ammonia spike lol.

    New tank! (40 breeder)

Do you mean wash like crazy when you say "etching"? That is something I should have done when I got mine honestly. It does make for one nasty cycle I'll tell you that. A good power-wash would help.

    New tank! (40 breeder)

Cool, didn't know you guys had a thread up. I really like that scape with the newspaper lol. When the rocks get here we can start drilling and getting stuff prepped up. Looking forward to it. We should set up the mock up on that table you have in the garage taped out to see how it will look...

What do you feed your nems?

I may try a mixture of foods. My guess is that the diet solely reliant on one source could keep them from getting the nutrients they need.

My first build thread (29g Biocube)

Cool build thread. Good to see you have someone helping you in the right direction. so many hobbyists just kind of dive head first without knowing how to swim so to speak. Keep up the good work, and keep taking pics of everything/saving them. It is really cool seeing how a reef evolves. :)

Where is the drilled picture? And the picture with the newspaper aquascape? lol

What do you feed your nems?

Gotcha, seems like most reefers feed their own food that they have made.

Thanks guys. Xavier posted that, but I got hit with AEFW in the DT and lost most of my good SPS... At least my frag tank is still alright, but damn my tank is no where were it was. Hopefully I can get it close to that soon.

    SPS Plug

Seconded. If they are zoas, I trim the plug as much as I can to have it be near the size of the polyps. Usually when it grows, it looks as natural as possible.

How far down can I put a stick?

Most likely, though corals can brown out for a number of reasons. My vote is to try it and if not move it up.

How far down can I put a stick?

Maybe a deep water acro could work a little lower. Doubt a mille would work that low. Maybe if the areas aren't shaded, but still can't see them doing too well. Tho who knows, give it a shot and see.

How far down can I put a stick?

What kind of sticks, fuzzy sticks? regular sticks? It really depends on the type of stick you want to put where.

How far down can I put a stick?

The plain and simple answer is it depends. There are some light hungry SPS, while there are others that don't require as much. Now, I really don't know too much about the unit you mentioned, but it has 90 degree optics so it will penetrate the tank somewhat. That being said, it really depends on...

Thanks for the welcome. Yeah, the lfs's around me seem to be going down hill unfortunately. Only one I really recommend is ASR (former Frazer Zoo) but it is a ride from me...

Wish I had a reefing budget like yours lol. I think I am going to start mysis and see how they do.

What do you feed your nems?

Yeah, that is why I stopped with the silversides as well.
