    Laptop screen repair

Kyle, I did my kids Apple computer (she sat on it!), and one of their phones. If you google your computer for "screen replacement," I'm sure you'll find a youtube or specific instructions how to replace the screen. That's what I did and found a youtube that was very specific in pulling out...

    Jgraz's march to 200DD

If you decide to go in-ground for the pool, I used Polar Pools. Delivered by truck to your house and went together like an Erector Set. You will need to do two concrete pours for this pool. The only issue I had doing this myself was finding someone to sell me the vermiculite needed for...

    Lighting gels

I just recieved my gels from B&H photos and there is every color and shade of gel....at least 130 of them......too many. The one thing I do like is that with each gel you have a data sheet that tells you what it is: Now to start and play.

    White egg crate and phosphate...

Mark, I appologize if my remarks came across a bit crass. I actaully am a chemist and spent some time playing with medical grade plastics in my career. To the best of my knowledge, egg crate is made of acrylic or polystyrene plastic, neither of which use phosphates in their manufacturing...

    White egg crate and phosphate...

Thats some real good anecdotal science right there! :o Having a pHD in anecdotal nonsense, I believe what is happening is that the perfect 1/2 inch little squares in the egg create are in ideal harmonic balance with the wavelenght of the light causing for ideal light conditions for algea...

    White egg crate and phosphate...

I have one thing to say.......Bull feathers! Don't believe everything you see on the internet. Show me the science and I'll believe. But the day you can get phosphate out of acrylic or styrene plastics is the day you've received a Nobel prize. Phosphates are not used in the making of...

    Jimroth's Big Ol' Tank

Geeze Jim, this is going to change my Man Mantra on fixing anything. In the past this mantra was that if it can't be fixed by a hammer and duct tape, it can't be fixed. I guess I'll now have to add Weldon to this mantra. :p

    Electronics Help

Stuff similar to the questions asked by THIS supplier. I have no idea about output. I just assumed AC since it didn't specifically say DC on the label. This power supply is for an Aquabot pool robot. This is the third one I've purchased, and unfortunately when the other two crapped out, I...

    Electronics Help

I need help! When it comes to electronics, I don't know what I'm doing. A power supply I use crapped out, and upon investigation I found the transformer wasn't putting out any juice. The company wants $190 for the entire power supply, but I only need a new transformer, that I've got to...

    My 75 gallon upgrade build

Jon, rinising food does virtually nothing to your phosphate levels in your tank. HERE is an article explaining this. The conclusion from this Randy paper is, "So the hypothetical rinsing step has removed about 1 percent of the phosphate in that food...........That amount washed away does not...
