I didn't examine my sea hare before tossing him into the tank. I only saw him long enough to hit the bottom and didn't see him again until the tank was clean, so unfortunately (?! LOL) I don't have an answer to your question. Sorry!
I ended up passing him along after he cleaned up the tank, so...
Welcome Back, Brian! Good to see you again. A bit has changed since way back when, huh? This month's meeting is this weekend in Edison if you're going to be around on Saturday. Stop on by with the family and say HI...

That's where a pendant is helpful! Mine is stuck where ever I put it, which I think is 12" (or very close to). I had my halides at 6" originally (when I had the stock Oceanic canopy) and while it worked... it didn't really work. There was sooooo much salt spray on my bulbs they were rendered...
Much closer than that (12") and the salt spray from the water surface will cloud the bulb and reduce efficacy. Best to keep it at least 9/10 off the water.
It means you can go from 340 as high as 380 in one day. So if you have to jump 160 points on the chart then you would want to do it in 4 days instead of 3. If you only had to go up 20 or 40 points you could do it all at once.
You also have to remember to take into consideration the fact that while you're adding it, your system is using it. So in addition to the 40ppm over 3 days you'll also have to be adding back your usage amount (which may or may not be negligable depending on what you've got in there absorbing it).
